Seasoned Bean Sprouts

This is a delicious and easy to make dish that is perfect for a quick lunch or dinner. The bean sprouts have a crunchy texture that adds some nice texture to the dish.

Seasoned Bean Sprouts

You’ll need:

1 lb. bean sprouts
5-10 clove of garlic
1 stalk green onion
1/2 yellow onion
1 tbsp. soy sauce
1/2 tbsp. salt
1/2 tbsp. sugar
1 tbsp. sesame oil
1/2 tbsp. mirin
1/2 tbsp. red chili pepper flakes
1/2 tbsp. sesame seeds

Directions:

  1. Add and boil enough water that the bean sprouts will be fully submerged
  2. While waiting for the water to boil, wash and rinse the bean sprouts
  3. When the water is at a boil, turn off the heat
  4. Blanche the bean sprouts for about 2-5 minutes, depending on the desire texture, longer for a softer texture
  5. Once time is up, drain and wash the bean sprouts in cold water to prevent it from
    cooking further
  6. Set aside while we make the sauce mixture
  7. In a mixing bowl, add in your diced garlic, green onion, sliced yellow onion
  8. In the same mixing bowl, add soy sauce, salt, sugar, sesame oil, mirin, and red chili
    pepper flake. Adjust seasoning to desire taste
  9. In a mixing bowl, combine bean sprouts and the sauce mixture, and sprinkle in sesame seeds
  10. Mix well to combine all of the ingredients
  11. Plate and enjoy!
